Online English Writing
for Professionals
This course, offered in three parts, focuses on developing
writing skills at the paragraph level. A wide range of academic
writing will be examined. You will practice the steps of the
writing process, which include reading, thinking, brainstorming,
drafting, revising. You will keep your ideas about writing topics
and your reactions to readings in a journal, or learner's notebook,
and refer to it throughout the course. You will practice different
types of writing, such as informational writing, interactive
writing, memos, instructions, advice, explanations, evaluations,
and summaries. You will receive guidance in English grammar and
sentence structure in the context of your writing.
Although Online English Writing B builds upon the foundation
of A, and C builds upon B, you are not required to enroll in
all three courses. Students enrolling in this course should have
completed Online English Grammar Review or equivalent. For an
assessment of your writing skills, please send us an email message.
