My experience taking Marsha's accent correction lessons is extremely positive. I'd been in the US for more than ten years, and I thought that my accent would fade away over time, but it didn't. A few years ago, I made an attempt to correct my accent with another teacher, but I didn't show any improvement. After only a few lessons with Marsha I was able to speak more clearly. Now after two semesters of accent correction with Marsha, my friends and colleagues are commenting about my remarkable improvement. All I needed was a bright teacher. Marsha was able to give concrete instructions, which when applied, made my speech sound closer to everyone else's. As a programmer, I respond well to concrete instructions, and Marsha's instructions are very explicit. The fact that I was able to improve when I didn't have much hope has given me a great deal of confidence and joy. My personal gain from taking the pronunciation and accent reduction classes has been tremendous in many respects. I found out the deficiencies in my speech and learned, with Ms. Chan's excellent help, the method and techniques necessary to correct them. -F. The classes provided by Sunburst for foreign-born professionals are very practical for me, and the teaching method suits me very well. I can learn my lessons and do my homework any time I desire. We use the most modern technologies such as fax, email, web, and so on.
